ALTERED LANDSCAPES | TOM GEHRIG + T.C. MOORE
October 1 - October 31, 2018 The MPC Gallery initiates art exhibits that focus on contemporary issues which challenge traditional ideas, employs experimental methods, and fosters critical discussion. The exhibit “Altered Landscapes” invites viewers to examine how humanity impacts and shapes our environment.
The show features the art of Tom Gehrig, whose work references the human condition and how we alter the planet and ourselves in both strange and beautiful ways. In addition to a large collection of his paintings, an installation of his interactive sculpture, The First of Five Attempts to Deconstruct Jolley Jack's Dream, will be showcased. The exhibit will also feature the work of T.C. Moore. Etched on mirrors, Moore's pieces depict animals that are threatened, vulnerable or extinct. The images are reminders to what could be and what has been for some species on Earth. mpc art gallery:
