Tom Gehrig's "One Day a Week of My Life Repeated Six Times" (1972) is an installation he created for an exhibition while he was studying for his MFA in Intermedia at Mills College (Oakland, California). It's considered a cardinal piece that set a precedence for his entire career in the fine arts.

Although work on canvas with mixed media has been his primary medium to date, the influence of his early installation and performance art is found in all of his compositions, as he envisions landscapes as theatrical stages, narrated through painted landscapes and multi-layered objects.
