My artwork references the human condition—the fact that we alter the surface of the planet in both strange and beautiful ways.
The Arts Guild of Sonoma's annual National Juried Exhibition, entitled "ALCHEMY", runs from October 3 - November 3, 2019. The juror for the exhibit is Jenny Gheith, Assistant Curator of Painting and Sculpture at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Tom Gehrig's piece, The First of Four Attempts to Deconstruct Jolley Jack's Dream, has been selected for the show. This 3 dimensional piece chronicles the journey of the imagination, mysterious detours and the interconnected realites that shape perception.
Measuring 16" x 8" x 8", viewers are able to interact with the various components of the piece, which include individual oil on board plates.
